Discount Coupon code ($50 off $500): SAVE50TGBATG On this episode, we take a look at a solar generator from Ecoflow powering a AC mini split unit. The mini split unit is a third generation, DIY MrCool 12 K heat pump. We use an EcoFlow Delta 2 and an extra battery to power the mini split unit. On a normal day with sunny light we are able to run the AC unit all day from the solar generator. When in cooling mode, it will consume somewhere between 500 to 700 W, but after reaches the set temperature, it will usually hover between 75 to 150 watts. If you have the maximum amount of solar connected, you should be able to get through the whole day assuming you started with a full charge These tests and real world usage were done in summer in the southeast in August and September. Obviously your specific scenario and results may vary due to the different variables. This is just our experience.
