EcoFlow Delta 2: A Unit That Stopped Turning On, and a Mini Split Run in a Second Video
The owner says a Delta 2 running a mini split stopped turning on, and another video describes a 12K mini split run. Accounts, not tests.

What the manufacturer documents
- EcoFlow's Delta 2 product page, retrieved 2026-10-15 (no document version or date is printed on it), says the Delta 2 lets you store 1 kWh, that an extra battery expands capacity (2 kWh shown with one DELTA 2 Extra Battery), and that it has a 1800 W output. A footnote on the page says the unit can run high-wattage appliances up to 2200 W with X-Boost mode. (ecoflow.com)
- The same page says the Delta 2 has a LiFePO4 battery chemistry, with 3000+ full charge and drain cycles, and that the warranty is extended to 5 years. It lists a user manual, an app quick start guide and a warranty card among the box contents. The warranty terms themselves are not on this page and we do not state them. (ecoflow.com)
- The page describes AC Always-On, which it says gives a seamless transition from the grid to backup power, and an EcoFlow app for viewing battery status. We do not reproduce how either works; the page points to the user manual and support center. (ecoflow.com)
- As we read this page, it does not include a specification table, a troubleshooting section, a description of what happens when the unit will not power on, or any figure for running a mini split. We make no statement about EcoFlow's user manual, support center or warranty policy pages, which we did not cite. (ecoflow.com)
What happened to us
- The owner shows an EcoFlow Delta 2 with an extra battery connected. He says it had been powering a ductless mini split, which he describes as 'a 9 or 12' thousand BTU unit and could not remember which, and that it worked well for a few months, including over the previous summer. (video)
- The owner says the unit then 'randomly' stopped working. He holds the power button for about 10 seconds and the unit shows nothing and does not turn on. He says the breaker is not tripped and that a heat gun plugged into the unit does not run. (video)
- To show the wall outlet had power, the owner checks it with a non-contact voltage sensor and runs the same heat gun from it. He then plugs the Delta 2 into the outlet to charge and says it does not charge, does not turn on and does not register in the app. (video)
- The owner says he had filed support tickets with EcoFlow by the time of the video and would need to check the purchase date. No support response, purchase date, warranty outcome or cause is given in the video. The owner does not state what was wrong with the unit. The video does not open the unit or test the battery. (video)
- In the other video the owner says he had been running a 12,000 BTU, 115 V mini split from a Delta 2 plus one Delta 2 extra battery for about two weeks, with solar panels connected as a source of input (the caption reads '280 watt panels'; their count and rating are not recorded). He says it is not a review of the unit and that EcoFlow did not send it or sponsor the video. Whether this is the same unit as in the first video is not recorded. (video)
- The owner says the solar input on a good normal day is roughly 300 to 320 W, and that during a cloudy, drizzling morning it was only about 20 W. At the moment shown (around 11:46 a.m.) he says the unit was outputting roughly 650 W to the mini split, in a room he describes as hot from equipment, people and sunny windows. These are spoken approximations. (video)
- At that load the owner says the unit's displayed estimate was about two hours, and he says that estimate is not really accurate because the mini split's draw falls once the room reaches its set temperature. He says that in his two weeks of use the draw then ran from about 0 to roughly 75 W. (video)
- The owner says a 2 kWh setup (one Delta 2 and one extra battery) ran this mini split about one whole day with good sunlight and close to 400 W of solar through the day, and maybe half a day with no solar. He says these are rough estimates from his own setup and room. He also says his off-grid system could recharge the units when the sun was not available. (video)
What the page lists and what the owner said
| Topic | What EcoFlow's page lists | What the owner said or showed |
|---|---|---|
| Output | 1800 W output; footnote: up to 2200 W with X-Boost mode | About 650 W to a 12,000 BTU mini split at one moment; about 0 to 75 W after the room reached its set temperature |
| Stored energy | 1 kWh; 2 kWh with one extra battery shown | 2 kWh setup: about a whole day with good sun and close to 400 W solar, maybe half a day without solar (owner's rough estimate) |
| Turning on | Not described on the page | The Delta 2 with extra battery in the failure video would not turn on or charge after a few months of service; cause not stated |
| Warranty | 5 years (warranty terms not on this page) | Support tickets filed; purchase date and outcome not recorded |
What we did not verify
- This page is the owner's account of his own equipment in two videos. It is not a recommendation to buy, install, change or repair anything, and it is not advice on sizing, loads or running air conditioning from a power station.
- The owner does not say what caused the unit to stop turning on, and this page does not diagnose it. The video shows no inspection, no meter readings from the unit and no support outcome.
- The two videos are about different moments and may not be the same unit. The runtime video was published on 2023-09-20 and the failure video on 2024-03-28; filming dates are not recorded. Firmware, serial numbers and purchase dates are not recorded. The product page we cite prints no version or date and may differ from what applied when the videos were made.
- The mini split run figures are spoken approximations from one room and one set of solar panels, under the varying sun conditions the owner describes. No logged or controlled runtime is established. The displayed estimate of about two hours is the owner's reading of the unit, which he says is not accurate. Nothing here shows a run was sustained or repeatable.
- The product page's output and capacity figures are EcoFlow's statements. This site does not test them, and they are not our measurements. We did not cite EcoFlow's user manual, support center or warranty pages.
- The second video also describes how the mini split was connected to the unit; we do not reproduce that. Other videos on our channel show a Delta 2 with 240 V equipment; they are not covered here.
- Not recorded: the Delta 2 and extra battery serial numbers, dates of purchase, failure and each video, firmware and app versions, the exact mini split model and size in the first video, the support response and warranty outcome, the readings behind the 650 W and 75 W figures, and the length of each run. The owner's purchase advice and general opinions in the videos are left out on purpose. Also not recorded: the owner's answers to 6 follow-up questions on identification, history, measurements and dates that the videos do not state.
Questions and answers
Did the EcoFlow Delta 2 in the video stop working?
The owner says one Delta 2 with an extra battery, which had been powering a mini split for a few months, stopped turning on and would not charge from a wall outlet that he showed had power. He does not state the cause, and the video shows no inspection or support outcome. That is one unit.
How long did a Delta 2 run the mini split?
In the other video the owner says a Delta 2 and one extra battery (2 kWh) ran a 12,000 BTU mini split about one whole day with good sunlight and close to 400 W of solar, and maybe half a day without solar. These are his rough estimates for one room, not measurements we verified.
What does EcoFlow say about the Delta 2 output?
The product page we cite, retrieved 2026-10-15, lists a 1800 W output, with a footnote about up to 2200 W with X-Boost mode, and a 5-year warranty. It prints no document version.
Is this a recommendation for or against the Delta 2?
No. This page records what the owner said in two videos and what EcoFlow's product page lists. It does not advise buying, installing, changing or repairing anything.
